My Brazilian Bestie, Good News, and a Change of Plan

A couple of weeks ago, I received a call from my dearest friend, Adriana. "Girl, I am coming to bug you in person. I will be at your house June 8!" I could not believe it! She wanted to be here to help me, especially through my first chemo. I told her that she didn't have to because I would be in Brazil in July. She said, "Jules, if it were me, would you not already be in Manaus?" Well, yeah. So, she arrived today. I still can't believe she came all the way here to help me during my first chemo. There's just one glitch...

Yesterday (June 7, 2023), I had an MRI and saw Dr. Fricke, the radiologist for the Y-90 radioembolization. I was reading a pamphlet on it when he came in the room. He took it out of my hand and replaced it with a liver ablation one. He gave me some great news! He said the only thing he could see in the MRI was the 2.1 cm lesion on my liver; not even any smaller spots near it. So, he is recommending the ablation instead of the Y-90 because it would damage much less of my liver. He said he knew just how big the ice ball needs to be and can get good margins. The Y-90 can happen later if needed. The ablation is much less invasive, too; an outpatient procedure.

SO...chemo will NOT begin on Monday the 12th because I am having the ablation on Wednesday the 14th. I'm really glad. Get this cancer out of me then start the chemo to hopefully keep it gone.

Thank You, God! And thank you to all of my friends for the many prayers that have been said for me. Intercessory prayer is so powerful. Our God is so good.

I don't think Adri is too disappointed.
